A Little Intro...

Hi, my name is Shakira (known to some as Shakz).

I won't say too much right now, as I would love for you to learn more about me, as I get to know you all. 

​

What I will say is that I am really passionate about giving helpful advice and encouraging women (specifically mums) to not only be the best version of themselves, but to actually really 'see' themselves and actively love what they see and who they are - it is a journey of consistency, honesty and sometimes it can be really difficult... painful even. It's an ongoing journey that I am still on myself, and also one of the most important journeys that you will go on; it's personal and necessary.

I want to share stories with you and have you share yours with me. Sometimes we think that no one will really understand us, then we talk to someone and discover that we all go through the good days; the ok days; the I don't know days; the bad days and everything in between. Whether you have someone to talk to or not, I want to create a safe space for you to ask questions and for me to answer them with honesty and integrity; hopefully aiding you see things from a different perspective and encouraging you to either take the next steps or start thinking about it.

Nothing brings me more joy than encouraging and supporting other women; be it listening, advising or creating a plan to help them to reach their goals. I believe it is my God given gift and I am finally ready to fully embrace it and share it with whoever I can. By doing this, not only will I be the best version of myself, but I will be leading by example and living in my purpose.

There's no particular set of topics, the plan is to see where the posts take us and post about a variety of things, from self love to skincare... So here goes nothing; welcome to The Original Yummy Mummy!

...Oh and just in case you would like a bit of background knowledge... I am a British Nigerian 80s baby; I have a 9 year old son; a BA in American Studies; MSc in Psychology; I'm a certified life coach and work in HR; but most importantly, I am a mental health advocate and lover of Christ! <3
